The great book.
Man is the replica of the world. The study of man therefore is equivalent to the study of the world. So man is a great book to be studied.
The plan of Nature is the same everywhere. In it the ever available material for investigation is man himself. Enquiry into him expands into an endless wisdom. When man is fully known nothing else remains to be known. He is therefore viewed as the lord of creation.
A reverent study of oneself ultimately ends as the study of the Infinite.

Le grand livre.
L'homme est la réplique du monde. L'étude de l'homme équivaut donc à l'étude du monde. L'homme est donc un grand livre à étudier.
Le plan de la nature est le même partout. Dans celle-ci, le matériau toujours disponible pour l'investigation est l'homme lui-même. L'investigation sur lui s'étend jusqu'à une sagesse infinie. Lorsque l'homme est pleinement connu, il ne reste plus rien à connaître. Il est donc considéré comme le seigneur de la création.
Une étude respectueuse de soi-même aboutit finalement à l'étude de l'Infini.

El gran libro.
El hombre es la réplica del mundo. Por lo tanto, el estudio del hombre equivale al estudio del mundo. Por lo tanto, el hombre es un gran libro para ser estudiado.
El plan de la Naturaleza es el mismo en todas partes. En él, el material siempre disponible para la investigación es el hombre mismo. La investigación sobre él se expande hasta convertirse en una sabiduría infinita. Cuando se conoce plenamente al hombre, no queda nada más por saber. Por lo tanto, se lo considera el señor de la creación.
Un estudio reverente de uno mismo termina en última instancia como el estudio del Infinito.
