Freedom III.
The freedom that man hankers after cannot be had in the phenomenal universe, it being the cause of his bondage.
Man wants to be free from decay, disease and death. But body-bound that he is, he cannot escape from these inevitable modifications. Man is in fact Atman enshrined in body. When he gains self-knowledge, he frees himself from these limitations pertaining to body.
Because of his identification with body the immortal man thinks of himself as the mortal. Self-knowledge gives him freedom – Mukti.

Liberté III.
La liberté à laquelle l’homme aspire ne peut être obtenue dans l’univers phénoménal, car elle est la cause de son asservissement.
L’homme veut être libéré de la décadence, de la maladie et de la mort. Mais, lié au corps, il ne peut échapper à ces inévitables modifications. L’homme est en fait l’Atman enchâssé dans le corps. Lorsqu’il acquiert la connaissance de soi, il se libère de ces limitations propres au corps.
En raison de son identification avec le corps, l’homme immortel se considère comme mortel. La connaissance de soi lui donne la liberté – Mukti.

Libertad III.
La libertad que el hombre anhela no puede obtenerse en el universo fenoménico, pues es la causa de su esclavitud.
El hombre quiere liberarse de la decadencia, la enfermedad y la muerte, pero, atado como está al cuerpo, no puede escapar de estas modificaciones inevitables. El hombre es, de hecho, el Atman consagrado en el cuerpo. Cuando obtiene el autoconocimiento, se libera de estas limitaciones pertenecientes al cuerpo.
Debido a su identificación con el cuerpo, el hombre inmortal se considera mortal. El autoconocimiento le da libertad: Mukti.
