À la page suivante était collée une autre photographie, prise avec le docteur Miyamura devant le laboratoire Curie, probablement par un camarade. On devait être au début du printemps. Le docteur, sans pardessus, serre sous le bras sa serviette que je reconnais. Sa femme se tient à ses côtés dans une attitude modeste, sans manteau, une fourrure claire sur les épaules. Les robes cortes portées au lendemain de la première guerre mondiale découvrent haut les jambes. Elle est grande et le costume européen lui va bien. Le docteur est souriant et sur les lèvres de sa femme joue aussi un sourire. Elle avait dû venir le voir rue d’Ulm.
En léguant a sa fille cette image souriante d’elle-même, sans doute avait-elle voulu lui montrer qu’elle avait été heureuse.

On the next page was glued another photograph taken with Doctor Miyamura in front of the Curie laboratory, probably by a comrade. It must have been early spring. The doctor, without an overcoat, has his briefcase under his arm, which I recognize. His wife stands by his side in a modest attitude, without coat, light-color fur on her shoulders. The short dresses worn after the First World War reveal high the legs. She is tall and the European costume suits her well. The doctor is smiling and his wife's lips also shows a smile. She must have come to see him on rue d'Ulm.
By bequeathing this smiling image of herself to her daughter, she no doubt wanted to show her that she had been happy.
