Ghibli Park reveals details of attractions, including exhibit featuring Totoro
Fans of Studio Ghibli’s animated movies have been looking forward to Nov. 1, when a Ghibli-themed park will open in Aichi Prefecture. Now they know a little more about the park, after it revealed details of its attractions on Sept. 15.
The park will feature an indoor exhibition hall called Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse. It will showcase exhibits based on Ghibli movies. These will include a recreation of the world of the 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro. It includes a children’s playroom with a sleeping Totoro and the “Cat Bus.”
Visitors can also sit next to the character No-Face in a train that runs on the sea. The scene comes from the Oscar-winning 2001 film Spirited Away.
“There is enough in Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse for people to enjoy for two or three hours. I want everyone to see it soon,” Aichi Gov. Hideaki Omura said at a news conference. (Kyodo)
