Looking for the best deal on the newest iPhone? Try Japan’s Apple Store
The best place to buy Apple’s newest iPhone is in Japan, according to a survey released on Oct. 5.
The survey was done by MM Research Institute, a Tokyo -based research firm. It covered Japan and 36 other major countries and regions worldwide. The survey compared prices in Apple’s online stores around the world based on yen exchange rates as of Sept. 12.
The 128- gigabyte iPhone 14 sold in Japan’s Apple Store for ￥119,800. This was lower than in Apple Stores in the U.S. and many countries in Europe and Asia.
The most expensive iPhone 14 was in Turkey’s Apple Store. The price was ￥238,454.
Higher-end versions of the iPhone 14, including the Pro and Pro Max, were also cheaper in Japan.
Experts said that Apple might have strategically kept the prices low in Japan, where the company enjoys a high market share. (Kyodo)
